Floyd's Opinion
Pat RobertsonRichmond Times-Dispatch Submitted via website Good day, I cannot help but be amused, and frustrated, by the recent caterwauling on the left regarding statements made by Televangelist Pat Robertson. Now lest you think me a Robertson fan please allow me to assure you that I am not. However, the duplicity of the left is always worthy of comment. These same people that want Robertson’s head on a pole were noticeably quiet when a hip-hop band called for donations to help them hire a hit-man to "kill George Bush" (http://www.indymedia.org.uk/en/2004/12/302236.html). They were again "missing-in-action" when Muslim protesters in the UK called for "Bush's death" (http://www.militantislammonitor.org/article/id/635). I cannot recall any outrage when a London Guardian article asked Americans to "Please kill George Bush..." (http://www.irritantnumber4.com/2004/10/this_is_a_copy_.html). I don’t have room in this forum to list all the domestic calls for someone to "kill George Bush". The T-shirts with Bushes head in the center of a riflescope’s crosshairs. The multitude of bloggers, who continue to ask for Bushes assassination. The list goes on. Yet the silence from the left is deafening. I continue to hope that the left will, at the very least, begin to show some consistency with their outrage. Either they believe in peace, and that killing is wrong, or they don’t. Which is it? Sincerely, Floyd C. Bayne
