Floyd's Opinion
Warren and TubbsGood day, Sir, I hope this missive finds you well. I am writing to you regarding my representative on the Chesterfield County Board of Supervisors. On September 15 I sent an e-mail to Mr. Art Warren stating my concerns about his proposed yes vote on spending Chesterfield County revenues on upkeep of the Diamond in Richmond. I asked him to respond and explain to me his thinking on this matter. I never heard from him. After the Board meeting, and his vote in favor of spending $500,000 per year over the next twenty years, I again e-mailed him and made him aware of my disappointment with his vote and his seeming unwillingness to contact a concerned constituent. I still have not heard from him. Now comes a letter in my mailbox from Mr. Warren advising me of a meeting on October 13 to discuss road building in Chesterfield County. Specifically the letter refers to using the Public Private Transportation Act (PPTA) to finance road construction. The letter also asks how we can best use the Public Private Education Act (PPEA) for building schools, etc. in the county. If I thought he would respond I would ask Mr. Warren how much help that extra $500,000 per year over the next twenty years would be in paying for these expenditures. How about we keep Chesterfield revenues in Chesterfield? Mr. Warren has been in power entirely too long. Like most politicians in his position he thinks that he is unassailable and need not answer to his constituents. It is time for a change. I have spoken to a gentleman who believes, among other things, that we need to use our revenues to build new schools, get rid of all the trailers at our schools, and be more responsive to the needs of Chesterfield first, not the surrounding localities. This election my vote will go to Mark Tubbs. Sincerely, Floyd C. Bayne
