Floyd's Opinion
Gene's Supermarket ConcernsThis letter was sent to all of my national representatives on letterhead from Gene’s Supermarket. The content is the same for each so I have just sent the letter to Charles Robb.
The Honorable Dear Senator Robb, We write to you as concerned citizens and businessmen. Specifically we wish to make know our opposition to pending legislation. We are all registered voters, taxpayers, fathers, and business owners who take seriously our responsibility to our community. If we are made aware of legislation that we feel will be of more harm than good to that community we then are compelled to work against such legislation. The following are the specific bills we are opposed to: S.1528-32 S.1567-68 H.R.689 S.55 H.R.5 S.1150 It is our opinion that these bills and their effect are punitive in nature and absolutely unfair to the small businesses that are the backbone of the workplace in America. It is also grossly unfair to those employees who do not wish to have what little of their check is left after taxes, taken by the labor bosses who, in reality, care little about the welfare of those employees. For these, and myriad other reasons, we hope that you will vote against any such legislation no matter it’s source or the wording. Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter. Sincerely, Gene C. Bayne President Floyd C. Bayne Vice-president Robert W. Bayne Treasurer D. Alan Bayne Secretary
