Floyd's Opinion
Tax ReliefThis letter was also written on April 12, 1994, but as it was sent to Congressman Bliley it differed slightly.
The Honorable Dear Congressman Bliley, I trust this letter finds you well. I write regarding the never-ending problem of taxes. I have written my two senators about this same problem. While I believe you to be a decent and honorable man I cannot say the same for Mr. Robb and Mr. Warner. Therefore I must depend upon you to advance the cause of TAX RELIEF! Despite both myself and my wife working, a mortgage, two children, and two auto payments, etc. we had to pay the IRS over $1,700 for tax year 1993. What is wrong with this picture!? I will ask you the same question I put to the senators, As my elected representative what are you doing to REDUCE my tax burden!? I cannot express in words the anger my wife and I feel toward those in our congress who would continue to saddle hard working Americans with such an onerous burden. Something must be done now to reduce taxes, NOT JUST STROKE US BY CLAIMING TO HOLD THE LINE! I feel confident that you will do something to help. You have proven yourself worthy of my vote time and again, I am sure you will now. I will close now by thanking you for your help, but I must sign myself, mad as hell, Floyd C. Bayne
