This letter was written on April 12, 1994 and the same content was sent to both Senators Warner and Robb.

Dear Senator Robb,

I trust this letter finds you well. I write regarding the never-ending problem of taxes.

I wish for you to know the following:

a. My wife and I both have jobs. My wife because she must work to help us pay the bills, not because she wants to be away from our children. b. We have a mortgage. c. We have two beautiful children. d. We have two auto payments. e. Combined income is a little over $60,000 annually.

These costs of living along with all the others that a FAMILY must endure in our America today.

Now I realize that in Mr. Clinton’s way of thinking my wife and I qualify as rich, however, we do not see it that way at all. Given all of the above I wish for you to know that we just sent to the IRS a check for over $1,700 for tax year 1993. I AND MY WIFE ARE NOT HAPPY!

My question to you is simple, As my elected representative what are you doing to REDUCE my tax burden!? Please don’t tell me how you have tried to hold the line in the past. The best we can ever hope for from a politician is that he will try to keep from RAISING taxes this year. WHY IS NO ONE TRYING TO REDUCE TAXES!? WE ARE NOT UNDERTAXED, WE ARE OVERTAXED!

I look forward to seeing something substantive done about this problem by my representatives, NOT JUST MORE RHETORIC.

I will close now by reminding you that this is an election year for you and sign myself,
