Floyd's Opinion
Displeased with Mark Earley
This e-mail message was sent to Jonathan L. Martin at Friends of Mark Earley on February 21, 2001. I had been asked to be a delegate for Mark Earley at the Virginia Republican Convention. I ultimately refused to do so. Good day, Sir. I trust this electronic missive finds you well. I write to express my displeasure with your decision to prevent the SCV from obtaining license plates with their logo on them. I am also concerned by your apparent coddling of the NAACP regarding this matter. I have recently signed on to be a delegate for you at the coming convention. I am seriously rethinking this decision. Not only does it bother me that my southern heritage continues to be assailed and misrepresented, but I have to wonder why you seek the favor of such extreme groups as the NAACP has become. Your answers to these questions may or may not allay my concerns, but they will help me to determine if I will remain a delegate for you at this years convention. I look forward to your response. Please know me to be, yours for liberty, Floyd C. Bayne Midlothian, VA
